ABOUT PLYMOUTH LITTLE LEAGUE

Since 1958, Plymouth Little League (PLL) has been an all-volunteer organization chartered by Little League International. of Williamsport, PA and governed by a Board of Directors. Our league has its own volunteer officers who collectively form the Board of Directors which organizes the baseball & softball seasons, and oversee day-to-day operations.

PLL is in Pennsylvania Little League District 22, which covers all of Southern Montgomery County and includes 19 chartered leagues.

Our Facilities

Our home fields are located in East Plymouth Valley Park right off of Germantown Pike, in Plymouth Meeting PA. Although owned by the city of Plymouth Meeting, the fields and facilities are all maintained by our volunteers.

Facilities at East Plymouth Valley Park include 4 official Little League regulation fields, and our T-Ball field. The T-Ball games are played on the Plymouth Spartan football field. Field 1, located at the lower left end of the complex is for all Softball. Field 3 located right-center of the complex is for our AA Division (7-8), and AAA division (9-10-11). Field 4, at the far end of the complex is for our Junior (13-14) and 18u (15-18) Baseball division. And finally Field 2, located in the center of our complex is home to our Intermediate League (11-12-13) Division.

PLL Baseball programs for players 4-18 include:

Quickball - Ages 4- 6* - 2021 marks our 3rd season of implementing our QuickBall program. This division has replaced traditional T-Ball and introduces a new, fast-paced coach pitch program. No gloves, no bats, and no helmets are required for this division (Gloves are introduced as the season moves along). All equipment is provided by PLL. Kids will learn fundamentals in this newly adopted format that fosters more action, more fun, and less standing around. Typically 1x weeknight and 1x Saturday each week throughout the season. This is a great division for parents to learn the ropes of volunteering in PLL.

*It may be possible for a few 6’s to be drafted up into AA division based on available positions.
*6’s require coach recommendation, player evaluation, and parent acceptance.

AA - Ages 7 & 8* - This is a machine pitch division, consisting of 6-8 teams. Games will be played at 46/60 field dimensions on Field 3. Typically 1 weeknight game (Tue-Thu @ 6:00pm), and 1 game on Saturdays. 7’s and 8’s will be drafted onto teams within this division. Score is not kept during regular season. A double elimination playoff will run during final week of season. Team sizes are expected to be very small to promote more playing time & development opportunities.

*It may be possible for a few 8’s to be drafted up into AAA division based on available positions.
*8’s require coach recommendation, player evaluation, and parent acceptance.

AAA - Ages 9-10/11* - This is a kid pitch division, consisting of 6 teams max. Games will be played at 46/60 field dimensions on Field 2. Typically 1 weeknight game (Tue-Thu @ 6:00pm), and 1 game on Saturdays. 9’s and 10’s will be drafted onto teams within this division. Score is kept through regular season. A double elimination playoff will run during the final 2 weeks of season.

*11’s will register in AAA division, and be drafted onto INTermediate division teams based on registration and available spots.

INTermediate - Ages 11-12/13* - This is our most competitive kid pitch division, that will consist of a max of 4 teams. Games will be played at 50/70 field dimensions on Field 2. Typically 1 weeknight game (Tue-Thu @ 8:00pm), and 1 game on Saturdays. 12’s will be rostered, and 11’s will be drafted onto teams based on available positions within this division. Score is kept through regular season. A double elimination playoff will run during the final 2 weeks of season.

*13’s are encouraged to play Juniors, however age eligible 13’s are permitted to play in this division.
*INT division will include 3-4 games against neighboring leagues.
*13’s will only be eligible for these games if approved by opposing league/coach.
*13’s require coach recommendation, player evaluation, and parent acceptance.

Juniors - Ages 13 & 14 - Games are played on the regulation baseball Field 4 and to rules of baseball. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept.

18u - Ages 15-18 - Games are played on the regulation baseball Field 4 and to rules of baseball. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept.

*Note: Due to variations in skill level at all ages, final decisions of proper division placement will be determined by the PLL Board of Directors. Decisions will be based upon player evaluation, safety and the emotional wellbeing of the child, amongst other factors as well.

PLL Softball programs for players 4-16 include:

6u Quickball - Ages 4-6 - This division replaces the 6u Softball program, and introduces a new, fast-paced coach pitch program. No gloves, no bats, and no helmets are required for this division. All equipment is provided by PLL. Kids will learn fundamentals in a newly adopted format, that fosters more action, more fun, and less standing around. Typically 1 weeknight, and 1 Saturday each week throughout the season.

Rookies - Ages 7 & 8 - Games are played on Little League field 1. This is a coach pitch division, that ocassionally will incorporate the "blue flame" pitching machine. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Score is not kept during regular season. An end of season playoff will run during final week of season.

Minors - Ages 9-10 - Games are played on Little League field 1 and to Little League rules. This is a kid pitch division. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept and the scoreboards are used.

Majors - Ages 11-12 - Games are played on Little League field 1 and to Little League rules. This is a competitive kid pitch division. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept and the scoreboards are used.

Juniors - Ages 13 & 14 - Games are played on Little League field. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept and the scoreboard is used.

Seniors - Ages 15 & 16 - Games are played on Little League field 1. All batters and base runners wear batting helmets and catchers wear full protective gear. Umpires officiate all games, scores are kept and the scoreboard is used.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors, which organizes the baseball & softball seasons that oversees day-to-day operations, is made up of the officers of the Plymouth Little League.

The PLL Board of Directors meets every fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings, which are always open to the general membership, are held in Plymouth Township Building. They last approximately one hour. Please join us!
